Boise, ID - The Idaho Stampede (5-13) went on a big second quarter run to pull away from the New Mexico Thunderbirds (10-9) and win 109-85 on Saturday night.

In the first quarter, Dar Tucker scored 10 points and the Thunderbirds led by as many as five points, but the Stampede closed the quarter on a 10-3 run and led 26-24.

The Stampede broke the game open in the second quarter, outscoring the Thunderbirds 31-14. Idaho led by as many as 20 points in the quarter. Antoine Walker led the way with 16 first half points and the Stampede shot 12 of 18 from the floor in the second quarter.

The Thunderbirds went on 12-4 run to open the fourth quarter to get within 10 points. The Stampede answered with a 17-5 run of their own to pull away for good.

Idaho shot 49.4% in the game led by Walker who had a season high 28 points. Three other players scored in double figures for the Stampede.

Tucker getting just his third start of the season led the Thunderbirds with 25 points

The Thunderbirds will be back in action at the D-League Showcase on Monday Jan. 10 at 3:30 p.m. against the Texas Legends.

New Mexico will return home to the Santa Ana Star Center for two games against the Tulsa 66ers on Jan. 14 and Jan. 15 at 7:30 p.m.
