Stampede end season with victory over D-Fenders

BOISE, Idaho - In the last game of the season for both Idaho and Los Angeles, the Stampede defeated the D-Fenders 114-101 at home.

Joe Dabbert lit up the scoreboard for Idaho in the first half of the game securing a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds before heading into halftime. Coby Karl and Andre Barrett contributed to the Idaho charge with 12 points apiece and Donell Taylor had 10 points. Idaho headed to the locker-room ahead of the D-Fenders, 70-45.

Los Angeles made a charge in the third outscoring Idaho 29-23 after Ryan Forehan-Kelly added 11 points to the D-Defenders total all in the quarter. L.A. continued the push outscoring Idaho 27-21 in the fourth quarter. It wasn't enough and the Stampede pulled out the win 114-101.

"It was a rough season," said Los Angeles D-Fenders Head Coach Chucky Brown. "But, our team fought hard all year and I am proud of them and hopeful for next year."

The D-Fenders ended with four players scoring in double-figures including James Peters with 20, Frank Robinson with 16, Forehan-Kelly with 15 points and ten rebounds, and James Wright with ten points. Idaho had three double-doubles in the night including Coby Karl with 25 points, ten rebounds, Dabbert with 21 points and 17 rebounds and Mildon Ambres with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Taylor and Barrett also finished in double-figures with 20 and 21 points, respectively.

I'm proud of how hard our team played through all the changes we had," said Idaho Stampede Head Coach Bob MacKinnnon. "I'm proud of the opportunity we created for all of our players and I look forward to next season."
