BOISE, Idaho - Tony Bobbitt had 20 points and seven rebounds and Cheyne Gadson matched him with 20 off the bench (team-high seven assists), but the Idaho Stampede fell to the Tulsa 66ers 89-76 at CenturyLink Arena in front of 2,789 fans. Mildon Ambres added 15 points, but Tulsa outrebounded the Stampede 56-39 and overcame a rough shooting night (35.5 percent) to win the season-opener for both teams. Will Foster, the 7-foot-5 product from Gonzaga had seven blocked shots and sex rebounds for Idaho.
Jerome Dyson led Tulsa (1-0) with 20 points, Dwight Buycks had 16 off the bench and Marcus Lewis cleaned up in the middle with 14 points and 16 rebounds (6 offensive).
Tulsa trailed 45-36 at the half, but outscored the Stampede 25-10 in the third quarter as Idaho went 0-for-4 from the three-point line and just 5-of-16 for the quarter. Tulsa won second-chance points 19-6.
Idaho (0-1) plays the 66ers tomorrow at CenturyLink Arena at 7 p.m. (MST).
