Tulsa 66ers Begin Season with 89-76 Road Victory over Idaho

BOISE, Idaho - Guard Jerome Dyson recorded 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists and forward Marcus Lewis claimed the team's first double-double of the season with 14 points and a game-high 16 rebounds to lead the Tulsa 66ers (1-0) past the Idaho Stampede (0-1) by an 89-76 final score Friday night to kick off the 2011-12 NBA D-League season.

Trailing 45-36 at halftime inside Boise's CenturyLink Arena, Tulsa stormed back in the second half to take control of the season-opening game by outscoring Idaho by a 53-31 margin.

Also scoring in double figures for the 66ers was Dwight Buycks with 16, Curtis Sumpter with 11 and Billy Rush with 10.

Collectively, Tulsa racked up 13 assists, led by a team-high four dishes from Dyson. On the boards, the 66ers dominated the Stampede by a 56-39 margin.

Defensively, Tulsa forced 19 Idaho turnovers. Buycks led the 66ers with three steals, while Dyson and Sumpter each added two.

Tony Bobbitt led the Stampede with 20 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Cheyne Gadson also chipped in 20 points for Idaho.

The 66ers and Stampede will square off again Saturday night, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m. CT inside CenturyLink Arena to complete the back-to-back set.
