St. Cloud, MN - RJ Martinez (Minot State) pitched five stellar innings, allowing just one hit as St. Cloud (8-8) won game two of the doubleheader against Mankato (9-7) by a final score of 1-0. The game was called due to weather in the sixth inning.
Martinez was electric through his first four innings as Mankato went three up, three down at the plate each time. In his five innings on the mound, he surrendered one hit while striking out four batters and walking none.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Brady Harlan (Oklahoma) drilled a double down the left field line. In the next at-bat, Hance Smith (California-Berkeley) blasted a double to the gap in left field and scored Harlan for the lone run of the game.
Recording hits in the victory for St. Cloud was Harlan, Smith, Brett Bonar (Nebraska-Omaha), Parker Smejkal (Nebraska-Omaha), Zack Elliott (Minnesota) and Tyler Finke (Southeastern Louisiana).
