
Squadron Win Second Consecutive Road Contest with 113-106 Victory at Maine

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Squadron, NBA G League Affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, won its second consecutive road game Saturday, defeating the third-place Maine Celtics, 113-106, at Portland Expo Center.
Birmingham (4-12) trailed by as many as 17 mid-way through the contest and took its first lead at the end of the third quarter when Jordan Swing's midrange floater fell to put the Squadron up 80-78.
The Celtics (8-5) reclaimed the lead on the first possession of the fourth quarter, but Birmingham took back the advantage for good with 5:34 left on a James Kelly layup.
Two-way guard Dereon Seabron led Birmingham in scoring with 27 points, while Kelly scored 20 and pulled down 10 boards. The Squadron out-rebounded Maine 46-30 and dominated the Celtics in scoring in the paint 78-36.
Maine was paced by Kamar Baldwin's 23 points, while former University of Alabama guard J.D. Davison notched 14 off the bench.
Birmingham returns home to Legacy Arena at the BJCC on Wednesday to take on the Delaware Blue Coats. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game can be viewed locally on My68 WABM and nationally on ESPN+.
