
Swarm Splits the Weekend in Wisconsin

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Greensboro Swarm 116-102. The Herd took an early four-point lead in the first quarter but the Swarm countered with 10-straight points to steal the lead. The Swarm continued to push ahead in the second quarter outscoring the Herd 33-21 and grabbing the 71-54 advantage. The Herd hit four straight three-point shots in the third quarter, but it wasn't enough to comeback from the 17 point deficit. The Herd made a 14-4 run to start the fourth quarter, but the Swarm didn't lay down. The Swarm went on to win.
In his first game with the Herd, Marjon Beauchamp led the Herd with 20 points while Joe Wieskamp added 19 points. In his first appearance with the Herd, Alize Johnson recorded a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Theo Maledon guided the Swarm with 23 points followed by Ty-Shon Alexander with 18 points.
Milwaukee Bucks assignment player Marjon Beauchamp threw down a dunk to start the game for the Herd. Elijah Hughes added back-to-back baskets while Iverson Molinar hit a running layup. Elijah Hughes tallied two consecutive three-points shots to put the Herd up 14-13. Alex Antetokounmpo and A.J. Green hit a three-pointer each to propel the Herd ahead. The Swarm responded with 10 straight points to build a six-point lead. Joe Wieskamp and Paris Bass each threw in a jump shot to protect the Herd, but it didn't slow down the Swarm. The Herd hit a six-point run at the end of the first quarter to come within five points. The Swarm led 38-33.
The Swarm outscored the Herd 10-2 to go ahead by 13 points to begin the second quarter. Alize Johnson hit his first points with the Herd at the eight-minute mark. Elijah Hughes continued his hot shooting streak from the three hitting his third one of the game. Marjon Beauchamp followed with six straight points, but the Swarm remained ahead. Rob Edwards added three points but the Swarm answered every basket. The Swarm had the advantage 71-54 at half.
The two teams battled back and forth to start the third quarter until Joe Wieskamp hit back-to-back three-point shots. A.J. Green added another three to make it three straight for the Herd. Paris Bass completed a three-point play and a free throw to close out the third quarter for the Herd. The Swarm led 102-77 at the end of the third quarter.
The Herd opened the fourth quarter outscoring Greensboro 14-4 to cut down their lead. The Swarm rebounded with seven straight points to add distance from the Herd. Marjon Beauchamp scored seven of the Herd's nine points to close out the game. The Swarm beat the Herd 116-102.
The Herd will hit the road to take on the Long Island Nets on Monday, January 30 at 6:00 p.m. CST.
