BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Birmingham Squadron (8-7) NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, will take on the Oklahoma City Blue (10-8), G League affiliate of the Thunder, in an early afternoon matchup on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. The game is the last matchup for the Squadron before the NBA All-Star Break.
Birmingham is fighting for playoff contention, currently in a three-way tie for fifth in the Western Conference with 17 games left to play in the regular season. Birmingham heads to Oklahoma City to face the Blue, a team they played twice at home in January, splitting the series 1-1. Oklahoma City currently ranks fourth in the Western Conference.
The Squadron are led by guard Jared Harper, who is currently averaging 22.2 points, 7.2 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. His 22.2 points rank 16th in the G League, while his 7.2 assists rank tied for seventh. He is also one of only 13 players in the G League averaging 20+ points and 5+ assists per game.
For the Blue, guard Lindy Waters III leads the G League in three-point percentage, shooting 48.3% from behind the arc on 42 of 87 attempts.
