AUSTIN - The Austin Spurs (12-11) lost against the Santa Cruz Warriors (14-11), 101-94, on Wednesday night at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
Two-Way guard David Duke Jr. led Austin with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. On assignment from the Spurs, Sidy Cissoko followed with 18 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists while Two-Way guard Jamaree Bouyea finished with a double-double in his debut with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Spurs closed the first period ahead by two, 25-23. The Warriors answered back in the second quarter with an 11-0 run to close the first half ahead by 10, 55-45. Austin climbed back in the third frame after Duke Jr. scored 10 points to cut the deficit to nine, 77-68. Both teams battled it out in the final period as Austin would come within five points, but Santa Cruz walked away with the victory.
Pat Spencer led the Warriors with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Javante Green tallied 19 points and 7 rebounds. Donovan Williams contributed 16 points for Santa Cruz.
