
Fourth-Quarter Run Sends South Bay Past Iowa, 118-98

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - The South Bay Lakers pulled away from the Iowa Wolves in the fourth quarter in a 118-98 victory on Tuesday night at the UCLA Health Training Center.
Lance Stephenson scored a team-high 24 points for Iowa (6-18) while Javonte Cooke added 17 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Minnesota assignee Leonard Miller posted 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
South Bay (13-10) was led by Maxwell Lewis who was assignment from the Los Angeles Lakers. Lewis scored a game-high 25 points to go with four assists and two steals. Jalen Hood-Schifino, also on assignment from the Lakers, had 22 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.
Despite only leading in the first quarter, Iowa stayed close much of the game, including tying the score multiple times late in the third and only trailed by four entering the final quarter. The Lakers took control with a 10-2 run midway through the fourth and maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the game on their way to the victory.
Iowa stays in California returning to Ontario Thursday night for a 9 p.m. CT contest that will be streamed on ESPN+. The Clippers defeated the Wolves, 130-103, on Monday night.
