Springfield Falcons Sign Mike Dipaolo to American Hockey League Contract

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons have signed defenseman Mike DiPaolo to a one-year American Hockey League contract, Falcons Director of Hockey Operations Bruce Landon announced today.

DiPaolo, 20, split the 2013-14 season with the Charlottetown Islanders of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound defenseman earned 4 points (4a) and racked up 165 penalty minutes in 51 appearances with the Islanders. Over three seasons with the Sting, the Brantford, Ontario native skated in 64 games and registered one goal along with 75 penalty minutes. DiPaolo started his career in the Ontario Junior Hockey League with the Burlington Cougars, collecting four points (4a) in 22 appearances.

The Springfield Falcons travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Oct. 24 before returning to the MassMutual Center to face the Norfolk Admirals on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. and the Syracuse Crunch on Oct. 26 at 3 p.m. Ticket packages are on sale now.
