Springfield Falcons Reassign Riley Wetmore to ECHL Affiliate

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons have reassigned forward Riley Wetmore to ECHL affiliate Kalamazoo Wings, Director of Hockey Operations Bruce Landon announced today.

Wetmore, 25, has appeared in one game with the Falcons this season. He split the 2013-14 season between the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League and Stockton Thunder of the ECHL. The 6-foot, 195-pound forward skated in 38 contests with the Sound Tigers, earning 11 points (3g, 8a), and 15 with the Thunder, picking up 5 points (2g, 3a). Wetmore has appeared in a career total of 42 AHL games, accumulating 12 points (4g, 8a). During a four year career at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, the Swanton, Vermont native totaled 111 points (50g, 61a) over 152 games. Wetmore started his hockey career in the Eastern Junior Hockey League, amassing 165 points (63g, 102a) in 139 appearances with the Green Mountain Glades.

The Springfield Falcons travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Oct. 24 before returning to the MassMutual Center to face the Norfolk Admirals on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. and the Syracuse Crunch on Oct. 26 at 3 p.m. Ticket packages are on sale now.
