Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons (7-3-0-1) were defeated by the Adirondack Phantoms (6-4-0-2) Friday night at the MassMutual Center, falling by the final score of 3-0. Cal Heeter recorded the shutout for Adirondack - the first shutout against the Falcons this season - to secure the team's fifth consecutive win.

Heeter stopped all 26 shots he faced in net, earning his first American Hockey League shutout. Mike McKenna (3-2-0) made 16 saves on 19 shots between the posts for Springfield.

Adirondack got scores from Chris VandeVelde, Ty McGinn and Matt Mangene. VandeVelde's first-period score served as the game-winning goal, his team-leading second of the season.

With the loss, the Falcons' winning streak was snapped at two. Springfield is back in action Sunday, November 10 when the team hosts the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 3:00 p.m. The game will feature a post-game skate, team poster giveaway, post-game autograph session as well as $2 dollar hot dogs at the concession stands.
