Canadiens Assign Greg Pateryn to Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QUEBEC - Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have assigned defenceman Greg Pateryn to the Bulldogs.

Pateryn was recalled by Montreal from Hamilton on Monday, October 28th, but did not dress for Montreal. In six games with Hamilton this season, the 6'2", 222-pound defenceman has recorded six points (three goals, three assists) and six penalty minutes. He currently leads all Bulldogs defencemen in goals.

The 23-year-old split last season between Hamilton and Montreal. In 39 regular season games with Hamilton, the Sterling Heights, Michigan native recorded 12 points (seven goals, five assists) and 27 penalty minutes. In three regular season games with Montreal, he recorded no points and no penalty minutes.

Pateryn was originally selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the fifth round (128th overall) in the 2008 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

Hamilton's next game is scheduled for tonight, Friday, November 8th, when they will host the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL Affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings) at Copps Coliseum at 7:30 p.m.
