(Erie, PA) - Hayden McCool had a pair of goals, while Logan Brown and Sam Povorozniouk had a goal and two assists each, as the Spitfires beat the Otters 6-3 before 3,774 at the Erie Insurance Arena on Saturday night.
Cristiano DiGiacinto chipped in a pair of assists, as the Spitfires kicked off a stretch of five games in eight days with a win over the Canadian Hockey League's No. 6 ranked club.
Windsor (14-20-1-0) led three separate times over the course of the opening 40 minutes, only to see the Otters tie the game on each occasion.
But Povoronziouk's 11th of the season, on a power play at the 12:21 mark of the second period, proved to be the game winner.
Markus Soberg (18:53) and McCool (19:58) salted away the victory with empty net goals.
Mason Marchment (6), Nick Betz (17) and Dylan Strome (27) scored for Erie, which lost in regulation for the first time in six games.
Brendan Johnston continued his hot play, making 27 saves in the win.
Devin Williams (22 saves) took the loss.
The Spitfires are right back at it Sunday as they visit Mississauga to take on the Steelheads (2:00).
