Morning Skate: Bulls Look for 2nd Win of 2015

PETES (13-8-1-3) VS. BULLS (18-15-1-2)

BELLEVILLE, ON - The Belleville Bulls host the Peterborough Petes for the first time in the 2014/15 regular season on Saturday night. This will be the third match up between the two East Division rivals, both teams have won a game each at the Peterborough Memorial Centre. Despite sitting eight in the Eastern Conference, the Petes have won two of their first three games to begin the second half of the season. Puck drop is set for 7:05 from the Yardmen Arena.

The Petes are fresh off a New Years Day shootout victory over the Mississauga Steelheads. Peterborough put up a 4 goal first period before letting the Steelheads swim their way back to force overtime. Forward Josh MacDonald scored twice in regulation and Eric Cornel potted the shootout winner. Netminder Dylan Wells made 34 saves in the 5-4 win.

MacDonald, the London, Ontario native, currently leads his squad offensively with 18 goals and 16 assists in 32 games played thus far. Anaheim Ducks prospect, Nick Ritchie follows closely behind with 14 goals and 18 assists in 25 games played. The Petes will still be without their six foot three, 230 pound forward who is representing Team Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championship in Toronto.

Rookie goaltender Dylan Wells has seen action in 18 games this season and owns a .894 save percentage. The St. Catharine's, Ontario native has picked up 7 wins and made 559 saves in total.

The Bulls are also coming off a New Years Day win, defeating the Kingston Frontenacs 2-0 in front of an energetic crowd. Forwards Michael Cramarossa and Remi Elie were the goal scorers for Belleville. Toronto, native Charlie Graham picked up his 3rd shutout of the season and made 29 saves in the win.

Elie, the Dallas Stars draft pick continues to lead his team with 13 goals and 20 helpers in 34 games played. Defenceman and Vancouver Canucks prospect Jordan Subban has posted 13 goals and 15 assists in 36 games played.

Netminder Charlie Graham has played in 30 games and has made 962 saves in total. It's rookie Connor Hicks however, that has been handed two starts in a row against Peterborough. Hicks currently holds a .891 save percentage.

The Bulls look to keep rolling in 2015 as they look for back-to-back wins to begin the second half of their campaign.
