Spinners Top Cutters in 11 Innings

GAME HIGHLIGHTS: The Williamsport Crosscutters dropped to 12-14 on the season Wednesday night, falling 5-4 in 11 innings versus the Lowell Spinners.

Lowell broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the second on a solo home run to right by Boss Moanaroa. The score stayed 1-0 until the Cutters tied it up in the top of the sixth inning, as Aaron Altherr scored from first on a stolen base attempt that resulted in two Lowell errors.

The Spinners took a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh, using two hits, two stolen bases, and a Cutters throwing error.

Williamsport dramatically jumped back into the game in the top of the ninth inning, as Cody Asche's one-out, three-run homer tied the game at 4-4.

The Spinners plated the game-winning run on a wild pitch by Cutters reliever Colton Murray in the 11th inning.
