Spinners Doubleheader Rained out Sunday
August 3, 2014 - New York-Penn League (NYPL)
Lowell Spinners News Release
JAMESTOWN, NY - For the second time in 24 hours the Lowell Spinners were rained out, with unplayable field conditions and continued rain forcing a rain out in Jamestown for the second straight night.
The double header between the Spinners and Jammers will moved to Monday, with the first of the two seven-inning games slated to begin at 4pm. Since the two teams do not meet again, one of the games in the three-game series will be cancelled outright, the first game lost to weather for the Spinners in 2014.
With a travel day on Tuesday, the Spinners will look to find innings for all three slated starters for the series over the 14 innings planned. Jake Drehoff (0-3, 5.22), Kevin McAvoy (0-2, 5.23) and Aaron Wilkerson (2-0, 1.50) will all be looking to find the mound before heading back to Lowell.
