-SPIKES FINISH SERIES VS. SCRAPPERS TONIGHT: The State College Spikes will complete a stretch of six straight home games and seven in eight nights as they face the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in the finale of a three-game set at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. With the Spikes' win last night, and Jamestown's two losses, State College is currently tied for the lead in the Pinckney Division. The two teams split a pair of games at Eastwood Field last week in their first series of the year. Mahoning Valley leads the all-time series, 38-36, but State College has taken 23 of the 37 contests held between the two teams and Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

-LAST GAME: The State College Spikes ran their win streak to three in comeback fashion as five straight hits in the seventh inning, capped by Bruce Caldwell's RBI single, catapulted them to a 4-3 win over the Mahoning Valley Scrappers on Monday night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. State College has now won seven of its last nine games and. Caldwell and Jimmy Bosco each produced RBI singles for State College as the Spikes erased a 3-2 deficit entering the seventh. Last time out, Paulino tossed 4 1/3 shutout innings against Batavia, giving up just one hit and two walks to notch his first win with the Spikes.

-WELL-TRAVELED WHITENACK STARTS FOR SCRAPPERS: Right-hander Robert Whitenack gets the ball for Mahoning Valley tonight in his fifth start with the Scrappers. Whitenack was picked up by the Indians organization this offseason after being waived by the Cubs. Last time out, Whitenack gave up seven runs (four earned) on ten hits over four innings to take the loss against Williamsport.
