-SPIKES BACK HOME TO CONTINUE SERIES VS. WILLIAMSPORT: The State College Spikes return to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park tonight to play their first official home game in over a week as they face the Williamsport Crosscutters in the second game of a three-game set. After tonight's game, the two teams will head back to Williamsport for the finale of this phase of the SawBuck Series. State College took two out of three from the Crosscutters in the season-opening series between the two teams, and has won three out of four from the ‘Cutters this year. Williamsport leads the all-time series, 47-41, and has a 24-23 edge on the road.

-LAST GAME: Cesar Valera collected three hits, including the two-run double in the eighth inning to give the Spikes the lead for good, as State College rallied to defeat the Williamsport Crosscutters, 7-5, on Monday night at Historic Bowman Field. Valera's 3-for-4 night followed a four-hit performance for the State College shortstop in his last visit to Williamsport, giving him a .700 batting average in two games at Historic Bowman Field this year. Luke Voit also produced three hits and reached base on a walk in the game for the Spikes, who got within a half-game of Jamestown for the Pinckney Division lead with the win.

-O'SHEA HEADS TO THE HILL FOR THE SPIKES TONIGHT: Left-hander Ben O'Shea makes his third start of the year for State College as he looks to continue his stellar season. O'Shea has earned the win in each of his first two outings. In his last start on Wednesday at Mahoning Valley, the Reading, MA native went six innings and gave up just one run on two hits and a walk while striking out six. O'Shea has notched six strikeouts in each of his first two mound appearances of 2013, and has walked just two batters. The southpaw was taken by the Cardinals out of the University of Tampa in the 35th round of the 2012 MLB Draft.

-PROSINSKI TAPPED FOR CROSSCUTTERS MOUND START: Right-hander Jon Prosinski looks to bounce back after two tough outings to begin his pro career as gets the starting assignment for Williamsport tonight. The 10th-round draft choice of the Phillies this year out of Seton Hall, Prosinski has allowed a total of five runs, four earned, on 12 hits over just 3 1/3 innings in his first two starts. The Skillman, NJ native set the Seton Hall record with 57 career starts, and holds the top career marks for strikeouts and innings pitched in school history as well. Prosinski was also a two-time All-Big East First Team selection.

-FOURTH-ROUND PICK KATZ OFF TO FINE START: Mason Katz, the Cardinals' fourth-round draft choice in 2013, joined the Spikes in Mahoning Valley and has been a dynamic force in his first four pro games. The Harahan, LA native is now 4-for-15 in his pro career, and drove in a run for the Spikes last night. Katz has also played two games at second base, with two as the DH.

-SPIKE MARKS: Ronald Castillo still holds a nine-game hitting streak that tied for the longest in the NYPL...Castillo (.389) is still 3rd in the NYPL batting race, while Valera moved back into a tie for ninth with a .340 average...Jimmy Bosco's nine extra-base hits are second in the NYPL to Zach Green of Williamsport, and his .600 slugging percentage is third in the league behind Green and Dan Gulbransen of Tri-City
