State College Spikes News Release
STATE COLLEGE, PA - Sunday night's game between the State College Spikes and Jamestown Jammers has been postponed due to rain in the State College area. Because Sunday's game was the last scheduled game in State College between the Spikes and Jammers this season, the contest will be made up as part of a doubleheader at Russell Diethrick Park in Jamestown on Thursday night beginning at 5 p.m.
Tickets for Sunday night's game can redeemed for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any 2012 or 2013 Spikes home game, based on availability. Fans can redeem their tickets by visiting the Medlar Field at Lubrano Park Box Office, or call (814) 272-1711 for more information on ticket redemption.
Sunday's post-game fireworks show, presented by Vision Creative Solutions, has been postponed as well. The Spikes will make an announcement concerning an alternate date for the fireworks in the near future.
Monday, the Spikes continue their homestand with a 7:05 p.m. matchup against the Pinckney Division-leading Auburn Doubledays (Washington Nationals) to start a three-game series between the two teams at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. State College's starter is as yet undetermined. Right-hander Jason Creasy (0-4) was scheduled to start on Sunday night. Auburn is slated to send right-hander Pedro Encarnacion (3-1) to the mound.
Fans are invited to bring their feline friends to the park on Monday night for Purr in the Park II - "The Cat Scratches Back." All cats should be crated or leashed for the event, with cats and their owners able to sit in the Outfield Bleacher section and roam the concourse, with a variety of cat tributes on tap as well.
It's also Buck Night at the ballpark, presented by 95.3 FM 3WZ. Get into the park with $1 Outfield Bleacher tickets, and then partake in $1 hot dogs, $1 small sodas and $1 peanuts all game long.
Tickets for Monday's game, as well as all seven remaining Spikes regular season home games in 2012, are currently on sale through the Spikes Box Office by calling (814) 272-1711 or by visiting in person. Fans can also buy and print single-game tickets by visiting StateCollegeSpikes.com.
