LHP Tyler Cox (7-2, 4.32) vs. RHP Christopher Corrigan (2-2, 2.89) ************************************ -SPIKES ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The State College Spikes face off against the Batavia Muckdogs tonight in the second game of three at Dwyer Stadium. It's also the Spikes' second game in a six-game road trip. 12 of the Spikes' last 15 games of the 2009 regular season will be played on the road. State College is also re-entering Pinckney Division play against a Batavia team they are 4-2 against this year and 16-20 against all-time.

-LAST GAME: The Spikes jumped out to an early lead once again to overwhelm the Muckdogs in a 9-2 win last night at Dwyer Stadium. State College took an 8-0 lead after four innings for the second night in a row, and made it stick thanks to the efforts of Ricardo Paulino, who went six shutout innings and allowed only a hit against him. Paulino also struck out three. Evan Chambers led the Spikes' offensive charge, going 3-for-3 with two walks in five plate appearances and driving in a run. Phillipsburg native and Batavia first baseman Matt Adams drove in both runs for the Muckdogs in the game.

-COX GOES FOR LEAGUE LEAD IN WINS : Left-hander Tyler Cox, whose seven victories on the year tie him with Brooklyn's Mark Cohoon and Collin McHugh for the league lead, looks for sole possession of the top wins mark tonight against Batavia. Last time out, Cox went six innings in relief of Victor Black to grab win number seven against Vermont last Sunday at Centennial Field. Cox has posted an ERA of 3.35 since Opening Night.

-MUCKDOGS TO START CORRIGAN: Right-hander Christopher Corrigan is slated to start for Batavia this evening. Corrigan from the University of Mississippi has made 13 total appearances, six of which have been starts, with just a .212 average against him. Corrigan was a teammate of Phillip Irwin and Nathan Baker at Ole Miss.

-CROWDING AROUND: The crowd of 5,708 that broke the Medlar Field at Lubrano Park attendance record on Friday was the third 5,400-plus crowd in eight days. 5,504 packed the park last Thursday for a doubleheader against Oneonta, and 5,401 came through the turnstiles for the 2009 NYPL All-Star Game on Tuesday. The Spikes return home this coming Friday.
