(ABERDEEN, MD) - After getting no-hit in game one of Sunday's double-header; the ‘Birds searched for victory but fell short, losing 5-1 and getting swept by the Cyclones.

Brooklyn's Richard Lucas led off the fourth inning with a triple. Luis Rivera hit an RBI single to score Richard Lucas to put the Cyclones on the board first at 1-0.

The ‘Birds bounced back in the bottom of the fourth to even the score. Brian Conley led off the inning with a single, he advanced to second on a Brian Ward ground out and reached third on a Ty Kelly single. Conley came into score on a passed ball during Steve Bumbry's at-bat, game tied 1-1 after four.

Joshua Dowdy took over the game in the sixth inning from Stephen Procner; Dowdy was roughed up for five hits and three runs. Rivera led off the inning with a double. Alex Gregory singled and Rivera was thrown out at home. Ralph Henriquez singled and Gregory advanced to second. John Servido hit a doubled to score Gregory and Henriquez. Servido came in to score on a throwing error by Ward to put the Cyclones up 4-1.

In the seventh, Jordany Valdespin drew a walk from Jake Smith to lead off the inning. Valdespin stole second and advanced to third on Lucas' ground out. Rivera hit a sacrifice fly to score Valdespin.

Procner (0-3) went 5.0 innings, allowing one run on six hits along with two strike outs and a walk. Dowdy received the loss in the contest.

Brooklyn's Cohoon (7-2) threw a complete game going 7.0 innings, allowing one run on four hits with six strike outs, two walks and picking up the win.

Tomorrow the ‘Birds will open up a 3-game series versus the Lowell Spinners; the game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Colin Allen (1-5) will start the series opener for the ‘Birds.
