Spencer reassigned to Adirondack in advance of tonight's game

Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, announced today that the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned defenseman Matthew Spencer from the Syracuse Crunch to Adirondack. Additionally, defensemen Stephen Johnson and Adam Larkin have been released from their standard player contracts.

Spencer, 20, returns to the Thunder for the first time since late February. The 6-1 defenseman has collected two points (1-1-2) and a +1 rating from 10 ECHL games this season. Spencer has also skated in 37 games with Syracuse to date and has amassed four points (1-3-4) in addition to a +3 rating. The Guleph, ONT native was originally selected 44th in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft in the second round by Tampa Bay.
