Head-To-Head - The Allen Americans picked up an important point last night in a 3-2 OT loss to the Colorado Eagles. With that point, the Americans are now tied with Wichita with 74 points with a game in-hand. The Americans can move into third place in the division with a win tonight over Colorado.
Let's Get Frazee -Â Americans forward Thomas Frazee had two goals last night and three in his last two games. It was his second two-goal game since being traded to Allen and his 5th overall in an Americans sweater.
Tight Race in the Mountain Division - There is one point that separates three teams in the Mountain Division. With the Americans point last night to tie Wichita, and Tulsa's 3-2 win over the Thunder, three teams are nipping at the bud of the ECHL playoffs. Tulsa and Wichita are both idle tonight, but Allen can claim sole possession of third place with a win over Colorado.
100 Club - Americans defenseman Miles Liberati joined the 100 club playing in his 100th professional game last night. 88 of those 100 games are with Allen, with the other 12 played in a Reading Royals sweater.
March Madness - With the loss last night to Colorado, the Americans record is now 8-3-2 in the month of March. Allen can finish its best month of the season with a win tonight over Colorado. Allen was 8-4-0-1 in November.
Short and Sweet - The Americans scored their seventh shorthanded goal of the season last night. Thomas Frazee's shorty in the third period was his second shorthanded goal of the season. His other came with Quad City.
Around The ECHL - The Wichita Thunder and Tulsa Oilers are both off this evening. Some tight races around the league especially in the Western Conference where Kalamazoo, Indy and Kansas City are all battling for that final playoff spot in the Central Division. The Wings currently own fourth place in the division, but Indy and KC are just three points behind. Indy has played one less game than both the Mavericks and Wings.
