FRISCO, Texas (Friday, Aug. 8) - Special Olympics FC Dallas will host the Colorado Rapids Special Olympic squad this Saturday, Aug. 9 at Toyota Stadium. The match will kick off following the conclusion of FC Dallas' game against the Colorado Rapids, which begins at 8 p.m. CT. The Special Olympics' match is free and open to the public.

"We're excited for our second match in two seasons against Colorado's Special Olympics team," said FC Dallas Foundation Director Melissa Reddick. "Last season, the team was able to get a 2-2 result on the road. Now, we're excited to have the home field advantage."

SOFCD was inspired by the Colorado Rapids Special Olympic team, who are now in their third season. The program is supported by the FC Dallas Youth program, which lost a hard-fought 8-2 decision against the SOFCD squad last October at Toyota Stadium. SOFCD midfielder Patrick Rooney had a hat trick in that 8-2 victory that was played following FC Dallas' 2-0 win against Seattle Sounders FC.

"SOFCD is an important part of establishing values and character in the players involved in our youth program here at FC Dallas," said Reddick. "Our SOFCD players are great role models. They are very inspiring to everyone who has the privilege of working with them."
