San Jose Earthquakes News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes announced the expansion of their "Miles to the Epicenter of Soccer" campaign, presented by Alaska Airlines, to include billboards in cities across the United States and the world in the months leading up to the opening of the Earthquakes New Stadium in March 2015.
During each month leading up to the Earthquakes New Stadium opening, the club will launch billboards in different cities around the world. The club launched its first campaign billboards this month in Seattle and Mexico City.
The billboard locations include multiple places around the Bay Area, along with New England, Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, Route 66, New York City, Miami and Las Vegas. The international boards include Mexico, Brazil, London, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and other locations around Europe.
The first phase of the campaign featured a contest to win a trip for four people to an Earthquakes road game, courtesy of Alaska Airlines. Currently, seven finalists have been selected from the first phase of the contest and fans can vote for their favorite photo on the Earthquakes Facebook page. The fan whose photo has the most votes will win the trip.
The second phase of the campaign still gives fans the chance to measure their distance from anywhere in the world to the site of the Earthquakes New Stadium at 1145 Coleman Ave. in San Jose with the opportunity to win 2015 Earthquakes season tickets by sharing their photos. The second contest begins on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
To enter for a chance to win the grand prize of two 2015 Earthquakes season tickets, fans can either pick up a "Miles to the Epicenter" sign at the Quakes Front Office or download and print a paper one from the team's official website at sjearthquakes.com. Using the sign, fans can then write their distance from the Quakes New Stadium on the sign and take a photo of themselves with the sign. Fans can also submit photos in front of the billboards. To enter the contest, fans have the option of emailing the photo to mailto:milestoepicenter@sjearthquakes.com milestoepicenter@sjearthquakes.comor uploading the photo through the club website, sjearthquakes.com. All of the photos will then be displayed at sjearthquakes.com and the team's official Facebook page, facebook.com/sanjoseearthquakes.
Fans can then share their submission with the hashtag #milestoepicenter and vote for their favorite photo. The photo that receives the most votes will win a pair of 2015 Earthquakes season tickets. The contest will run through the end of the 2014 MLS regular season on Sunday, Oct. 26.
Season tickets are on sale now for the Earthquakes New Stadium with options starting as low as $300. The Earthquakes 18,000-seat stadium on Coleman Avenue adjacent to the San Jose International Airport will open in 2015. The European-inspired building features a canopy roof and the steepest-raked seating in Major League Soccer to provide the best possible fan experience. Additionally, the stadium boasts the largest outdoor bar in North America, a two-acre fan zone and a double-sided video display. The suites and club seats are located at field level, giving fans a premium experience unlike any other in professional sports. For more information about season tickets, visit sjearthquakes.com.
