Los Angeles Sparks News Release
LOS ANGELES - In light of the recent fires that are raging through Southern California, the Los Angeles Sparks have announced that free tickets will be provided to firefighters, their families and all evacuees courtesy of Sparks' marquee partner, Farmers Insurance.
"We are in the business of taking care of people during difficult times, and we are working around the clock to help our customers impacted by the recent wildfires," said Kevin Kelso, Chief Marketing Officer for Farmers Insurance Group Inc. "We want our customers to take a night off from worrying and enjoy a great basketball game!"
The offer is good for the Sparks game tonight, Tuesday, September 1, 2009 (7:30pm) and Tuesday, September 8, 2009 (7:30pm).
"This is a small gesture of appreciation for everything city and county firefighters are doing for us right now," said Sparks Team President, Kristin Bernert. "We hope to provide at least somewhat of a distraction for the firefighters' loved ones, and for families currently displaced by the fires. Particularly for the children, hopefully we can take their minds off the situation at hand."
To redeem tickets, firefighters and their families should bring their ID to Window 4 of the STAPLES Center Box Office (day of game only). Evacuees should bring their CA Driver's License or other identification showing proof of residence. Please direct any questions about tickets to tickets@la-sparks.com.
