Ottawa Lynx News Release
The Lynx offence was stymied by Paw Sox pitching as Ottawa fell to Pawtucket 4-0.
The loss drops the Lynx 19-20 while the Red Sox improve to 16-23.
Lynx Player Of The Game: Joe Thurston had a double and a walk, accounting for the Lynx only hit in their 4-0 loss to Pawtucket.
Game Recap: The Red Sox jumped out to an early lead, scoring once in the top of the first inning. The Lynx had something going in the bottom of the inning with a double and a walk with one out but Sox starter Jon Lester got out of the jam unscathed. Pawtucket put up another run in the top of the third and a couple more in the top of the sixth while the Lynx could not respond. Jason Anderson took the loss after allowing two runs on four hits in 4.0 innings. Anderson struck out five Paw Sox in his first start of the season. Joe Bisenius gave up a pair in two innings of work. Anderson Garcia held Pawtucket at bay in his two innings while Rick Bauer threw a perfect ninth inning to close out the night.
Next Game: The Lynx and Red Sox meet up at Lynx Stadium for the second game of their four-game series. Game time is 1:05 pm.
Probable Pitchers: Sunday vs. Pawtucket, 1:05 pm, Ottawa RHP J.D. Durbin (0-3, 6.89) takes on Pawtucket RHP Runelvys Hernandez (0-2, 2.31).
