TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Indianapolis Indians in the first game of a four-game series from Dunn Tire Park (7:05 p.m.). The Herd is coming off its third consecutive winning roadtrip, taking four of six games in Rochester and Ottawa. On the hill tonight will be LHP Rafael Perez. The southpaw matched a season-high with seven strikeouts on Monday in a victory over Rochester. Indy will counter with LHP Sean Burnett.
RAFAEL'S WORK: LHP Rafael Perez has worked five or more innings in each of his appearances this season, including his one game in relief of LHP Cliff Lee on April 21. As a starter, Perez is 3-0 with a 2.87ERA. The Bisons are 5-0 in games he starts.
HIGH-SCORING HERD: The Bisons are tied with the Indianapolis Indians for the most runs scored so far this season (202). The Herd offense is also second in the league in average (.275), third in home runs (34) and fourth in steals (43).
RUN PRODUCERS: The Bisons now have three batters with 20+ RBI on the season. Ryan Mulhern is T2nd in the league with 28. Keith Ginter collected his 22nd and 23rd RBI of the season with a two-run home run last night in Ottawa. Ben Francisco also drove in a pair against the Lynx and now has 21RBI on the year.
TRIPLE CROWN: Ryan Mulhern leads the Bisons in all three triple crown categories. The slugger has a .336 average (T3rd in the International League), eight home runs (T3rd in IL) and 28RBI (T2nd in the IL). Mulhern also leads the Herd in doubles (11-T4th in the International League), extra-base hits (20, 2nd in IL) and slugging percentage (.625, 2nd in IL). He has hit safely in 10 of last 11 games, with a .421 (16-38) batting average.
HOT BAT: Outfielder Brad Snyder enters play tonight with a seven-game hit streak, the longest active streak on the team. Since May 11, Snyder has hit .391 (9-23) with a double, two home runs, six RBI and five runs scored. He has also hit in 14 of his last 17 games, raising his season average from .195 (April 27) to .276.
CHART TOPPERS: The Bisons have two players in the International League's Top 10 for both hitting and pitching. Ryan Mulhern's .336 average is T3rd while Ben Francisco's .331 mark is T6th. RHP Sean Smith has the 2nd lowest ERA (1.78) while teammate RHP Adam Miller is 10th in the IL (2.45ERA).
