South Bay Backcourt too Much as Clippers Fall

ONTARIO, CA- The Agua Caliente Clippers (14-7) can't contain the Laker guards as they fall to South Bay (14-7), 108-100, on Saturday afternoon.

The South Bay duo of Mac McClung and Mason Jones combined for 60 points, 20 rebounds, and eight three-pointers. Individually, McClung led all scorers with 35 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double while Jones recorded 25 points and nine rebounds.

Nate Darling led Agua Caliente with 22 points off the bench. Shevon Thompson added a 16-point, 12-rebound double-double.

After trailing by as much as 14 in the first half, the Clippers fought back in the third and forced six lead changes in the quarter. The contest remained neck and neck, with the score tied at 98 with 1:23 left in regulation, but the Lakers finished the game with a 10-2 run to seal the victory.

Up next, the Clippers hit the road for a single-game trip to Texas to take on the Austin Spurs on Tuesday, March 8. The game is slated to tip-off at 5:30 p.m. PT inside the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX.
