Santa Cruz Warriors Fall to Memphis Hustle, 107-99

SANTA CRUZ, CA - The Santa Cruz Warriors (10-13) fell to the Memphis Hustle (8-15), 107-99, to conclude the weekend's back-to-back against the Hustle. Tonight's game kicked off the Warriors Women's Empowerment Month efforts as the Dubs teamed up with Chase to host the first ever "Celebrate Her Night" at Kaiser Permanente Arena. The celebrations included a "Celebrate Her" t-shirt, presented by Chase, for the first 1,000 fans in the building, and the contest was officiated by an all-female crew.

The Santa Cruz bench had 47 points for the team tonight, anchored by guard Kalob Ledoux (15 points), forward LJ Figueroa (10 points) and guard Kendall Smith (12 points). Center Selom Mawugbe finished the night with a double-double for the Sea Dubs, finishing with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Memphis Guard Shaq Buchanan led the team with 27 points and added six rebounds and four rebounds. Forward Ben Moore added nine points and eight rebounds and guard Damien Jefferson closed out the night with 16 points and four rebounds off the bench.

The Hustle went on an 8-0 run to open the first quarter, but the Warriors fought back to take a 10-point lead, 36-26 going into the second quarter. In the final seconds of the second quarter, Memphis tied the game at 55 to close out the half. The contest featured multiple lead changes in the third quarter, but the Hustle regained the lead, 77-72, heading into the final frame. The Sea Dubs offense fought back in the fourth quarter, but could not regain the lead, falling 107-99 to the Hustle.
