Sounds Overtake RedHawks in 10 Innings, 11-9

Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Nashville Sounds (51-53) scored six unanswered runs over the eighth, ninth and tenth innings in an 11-9, comeback win over the Oklahoma City RedHawks (46-58) before 3,569 Tuesday night at RedHawks Field at Bricktown.

Nashville reliever Jim Henderson (3-1) took the winning decision after dealing a scoreless ninth and tenth inning. Ross Wolf (2-3) collected the loss after giving up the tenth inning runs.

The Nashville and Oklahoma City pitching staffs combined for 18 walks, 12 from the Sounds and six from the RedHawks.

Nashville took an early second inning lead when Eric Farris belted a three-run home run to left field off RedHawks starter Brad Hennessey for a 3-0 score. The RedHawks countered with a six-run bottom of the second. Koby Clemens belted a two-run home run for a 3-2 score. Nashville starter Sam Narron then delivered four consecutive two-out walks to score the game tying run. Robinson Cancel next singled home a pair of runs before a Brian Bogusevic single brought in another for a 6-3 score.

The Sounds added two runs in the fourth inning when a Mat Gamel double and Farris single brought in runs for a 6-5 score.

Oklahoma City regained distance with three runs in the fifth inning on two bases loaded walks and a fielder's choice for a 9-5 advantage.

Nashville started a rally in the eighth inning when Mike Rivera hit a leadoff home run off Sammy Gervacio for a 9-6 score. Caleb Gindl singled, moved to second on a fielder's choice, reached third on an error and scored on steal, when the throw went to second base for a 9-7 game.

The Sounds tied the game with a two-run ninth inning. Douglas Arguello allowed a leadoff double before Jeff Fulchino entered, pitching in back-to-back games for the first time since his disabled list stint. Fulchino gave up a walk and a single to load the bases before walking Rivera and forcing in a run for a 9-8 score. Caleb Gindl next brought in the game-tying run with a fielder's choice for a 9-9 deadlock.

Nashville took the lead for good in the tenth inning Logan Schafer singled with one out before a Jordan Brown ground rule double put runners at second and third. After an intentional walk of Taylor Green, Erick Almonte doubled into the left field corner to score two for an 11-9 lead.
