Oklahoma City, Okla. - Lucas Harrell dealt six shutout innings while the offense recorded seven extra-base hits in an Oklahoma City RedHawks (47-58) 6-3 win over the Nashville Sounds (51-54) before 3,277 Wednesday night at RedHawks Field at Bricktown.
Harrell (2-0) scattered four hits with three walks and eight strikeouts in six shutout innings for the winning decision. Of 99 pitches for Harrell, 62 were strikes. In three starts and 18 innings with Oklahoma City, Harrell has allowed two earned runs for an ERA of 1.00. Nashville starter Amaury Rivas (7-10) gave up six runs, five earned, and 10 hits over five-plus innings in the losing effort.
Oklahoma City opened the scoring in the first inning when J.B. Shuck doubled, moved to third on a line out to right field and scored on a J.R. Towles sacrifice fly for a 1-0 lead. The RedHawks added a second inning run when Collin Delome doubled and came around on an error by Nashville shortstop Edwin Maysonet for a 2-0 game.
The RedHawks extended the lead to 3-0 in the third inning when Shuck doubled for a second time and later scored on a Towles double.
Oklahoma City added three runs in the sixth inning. Brian Bogusevic led off with a triple and scored on a Collin Delome ground rule double for a 4-0 score. Koby Clemens next doubled in Delome for a 5-0 lead. A Wladimir Sutil double play ground ball later scored Clemens for a 6-0 score.
Nashville salvaged three runs in the ninth inning against RedHawks reliever Mickey Storey. Logan Schafer singled in a run for a 6-1 score before a Maysonet two-run single ended the scoring at 6-3.
