RENO, Nev.- Juan Miranda's first-inning grand slam gave Reno a 4-1 lead and propelled the Aces to a 10-5 win over the Las Vegas 51s in Tuesday's series opener at Aces Ballpark.

Trailing 1-0, Reno mounted a two-out rally in the home half of the first. Two walks and a hit batter set the table for Miranda, who deposited a one-strike Robert Ray offering into the center field seats for his first grand slam since joining the Aces. It was Reno's third grand slam this season, and helped give Reno a 7-6 lead in the 2011 Silver State Diamond Challenge with just three games remaining.

Zach Kroenke (7-2) battled for five innings, earning the win despite allowing five earned runs on six hits. Kroenke struck out one and walked five before handing the ball over to the Aces bullpen, which tossed four shutout innings to preserve the win.

Las Vegas starter Robert Ray (0-2) suffered the defeat, surrendering nine runs-eight earned-on five hits. Ray struck out six and walked three.

Robby Hammock also homered for Reno, hitting a three-run shot in the third to break open a 4-4 tie. Cole Gillespie finished with two hits-including his league-leading 15th triple-while Evan Frey and Lucas May chipped in with multi-hit efforts as well.

The series continues Wednesday evening at Aces Ballpark, with Reno sending RHP Gaby Hernandez (4-2, 6.23 ERA) to the mound against 51s LHP Brad Mills (9-7, 3.99 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. PT.

Tickets are available at RenoAces.com, the Aces Ballpark box office or by phone at (775) 334-7000. Discounted group tickets for your next event are available today.
