Sounders FC Travels to Sporting Kansas City Sunday for Penultimate Match of 2022 MLS Regular Season

SEATTLE, WASH. - After Tuesday's 1-1 home draw with FC Cincinnati, Seattle Sounders FC (12-16-4, 40 points) hits the road to face Sporting Kansas City (10-15-7, 37 points) today at Children's Mercy Park (2:00 p.m. PT / FS1, FOX Deportes, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM). Today's fixture is the penultimate match of the 2022 regular season for the Rave Green, who can keep their postseason hopes alive with a win.
Following Saturday's results around the league, Sounders FC sits in 11th place in the Western Conference, five points shy of the final postseason spot. Brian Schmetzer's side needs to win on Sunday to avoid being eliminated from contention for the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.
Sounders FC concludes its 2022 MLS regular season campaign next Sunday, October 9 with a Decision Day matchup against the San Jose Earthquakes on the Emerald Queen Casino Pitch at Lumen Field (2:00 p.m. PT / FOX 13+, Prime Video, Univision-Seattle, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360 AM).
