The Club will celebrate its 25th anniversary throughout the weekend, culminating with the match against New England followed by a postgame concert.
It will be the 69th encounter between the two teams, who have both been eliminated from participating in the 2022 MLS Playoffs. Chicago holds a 17-7-10 series record at home, registering 65 goals to New England's 43. Led by head coach Bruce Arena, New England (10-12-11, 41 points) is coming off a 2-1 victory against Atlanta United at Gillette Stadium. With the win, Arena becomes the first coach in MLS history to record 250 regular season wins.

The match featured a brace by 18-year-old Colombian international Jhon Durán, as well as a goal and two assists from 19-year-old Homegrown midfielder Brian Gutiérrez. With the brace, Durán leads the Fire in scoring with eight goals so far this season and is now the 12th player in MLS history to record at least 10 combined goals and assists in a single season at the age of 18 or younger.
