Sounders FC Returns to MLS Action Sunday against Minnesota United FC at Lumen Field

SEATTLE, WASH. - After falling on Wednesday to San Jose in Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup action, Seattle Sounders FC (2-5-1, 7 points) returns to MLS play to host Minnesota United FC (4-4-2, 14 points) Sunday afternoon in a nationally-televised matchup at Lumen Field (1:00 p.m. PT / ESPN, Sirius XM FC, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360 AM). This marks the second meeting between the two sides this season, after a 2-1 Seattle victory on April 2 at Allianz Field, bringing Sounders FC's all-time record against Minnesota to 9-1-1 (including postseason play).

Sounders FC sits 13th in the Western Conference with seven points (2-5-1) in just eight games played this season, while the Loons are in seventh with 14 points (4-4-2). Following this weekend's action, Brian Schmetzer's side embarks on a two-match road stint next week, facing the Houston Dynamo on Wednesday, May 18 (5:30 p.m. PT / FOX 13+, Prime Video, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360 AM) before taking on the Colorado Rapids next Sunday, May 22 (5:00 p.m. PT / FOX 13, Prime Video, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360 AM).
