Sounders FC Leads League with Four Players in Top 25 Best-Selling 2021 Adidas MLS Jerseys

SEATTLE, WASH. - Sounders FC leads all Major League Soccer clubs with four players among the top 25 best-selling adidas MLS jerseys in 2021 on MLSstore.com, the league announced today. All four of Seattle's players ranked within the top 10 on the list, marking the highest number of Sounders FC players ever ranked within the top 10 of the annual list.

Raúl Ruidíaz leads Sounders FC with a second-place ranking, followed by Nicolás Lodeiro (fifth), Cristian Roldan (sixth) and Fredy Montero (eighth). This marks the fifth time in six seasons (2016-2021) that Seattle has held the highest number of players on the best-selling jersey list, and the third consecutive year that the club has led the league, having also placed four players in both 2019 and 2020.

The rankings are based on overall retail sales of adidas MLS jerseys on MLSstore.com since the beginning of 2021. Atlanta United's Josef Martinez leads the list, and LAFC's Carlos Vela and the LA Galaxy's Javier "Chicharito" Hernández join Ruidíaz and Lodeiro in the top five. Overall, 14 different countries from 15 different MLS clubs are represented within the top 25 jerseys.

Ruidíaz's second-place ranking marks the highest listing in his MLS career thus far. The Peruvian signed with Seattle in the summer of 2018 and ranked 12th in 2019, followed by eighth in 2020. Lodeiro ranked 10th in both 2017 and 2019, followed by a 15th-place ranking last season before shooting up the list to fifth this year. Roldan has been a staple among best-selling jerseys, marking his fifth consecutive season ranking within the top 25, having finished 22nd in 2017 and 2018, 14th in 2019 and 24th in 2020. 2021 marks the midfielder's first year within the top 10. Montero rounds out the Rave Green group with his first career appearance on the top-selling jersey list. A beloved Sounder and prolific goal-scorer who played for the club from 2009-2012, Montero returned to Seattle prior to the start of the 2021 season.

Following a 3-0 loss on the road at LAFC last night, Sounders FC now returns to Lumen Field for the club's final home match of the 2021 regular season, where the Rave Green are set to face the LA Galaxy on Monday, November 1 (7:00 p.m. PT / FOX 13+, Prime Video, 1090 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
