Seattle Sounders FC News Release

SEATTLE, WASH. - Seattle Sounders FC today announced matchday activities surrounding tomorrow's match vs. the LA Galaxy at Lumen Field (12:30 p.m. PT / FOX, 1090 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM), presented by matchday sponsor Boeing. As fans come out to cheer on the Rave Green, they have an opportunity to support several club initiatives, including RAVE Foundation's newly announced 26 Fields by 2026 campaign and celebrating Women's History Month.

Announced yesterday, RAVE's 26 Fields by 2026 project sets the goal of building 26 small fields for free play throughout the region by 2026, in time for FIFA World Cup 2026™. Additionally, 26 Fields by 2026 aims to provide a new soccer ball to every child who lives within walking distance of those small fields.

As part of the campaign's kick-off event on Saturday, fans are invited to support the 26 Fields by 2026 initiative through a matchday auction featuring player autographed items and Sounders FC experiences. The auction items will be on display in Lumen Field's northwest field level and bidding is taking place online at Sounders.Givesmart.com, allowing even those who aren't able to attend the game in person the opportunity to bid on and win items. The auction is currently open and closes at the end of halftime of tomorrow's match.

Additionally, beginning this weekend and continuing for each home match throughout the remainder of the 2022 Sounders FC season, fans will be introduced to RAVE Community Kids of the Match as a live pre-match highlight on Soundervision, where a group of youth from different RAVE field communities will be featured each match. Tomorrow, youth from White Center Heights Elementary, a potential future site for a RAVE Foundation field, are being recognized.

In part of the club's continuing Women's History Month celebrations, fans at Saturday's game can also find some special ways to support woman-owned businesses. In the North Plaza, woman-owned food trucks Big Boys - preparing hearty Filipino cuisine such as rice bowls, lumpia and more - and Tabassum - bringing Central Asian street food, spices and flavor to the Pacific Northwest - are offering their delicious fare for purchase.

This is part of an ongoing partnership between Sounders FC and Intentionalist - an online guide to intentional spending that supports small businesses and diverse local communities - to curate BIPOC and diverse-owned food trucks on matchday that align with the club's social impact and cultural calendar.

Last December, the Rave Green partnered with Intentionalist for the 2022 schedule release, spotlighting BIPOC and minority-owned businesses associated with each month of matches. As a continuation of this theme, throughout the 2022 season Sounders FC is hosting each featured restaurant at a special pop-up in Lumen Field's PNW Marketplace concessions area, located on the southeast main concourse near Section 114. The featured pop-up at Saturday's match is the woman-owned Salvadorean Bakery, which is serving up its famous pupusas.

Fans who grab a snack at these food trucks or matchday pop-up tomorrow can also upload their receipts for a chance to win prizes through the Intentionalist Receipt & Receive activation. Through Receipt & Receive, Intentionalist has partnered with Seattle's professional sports teams, including Sounders FC, to encourage the community to buy from diverse small businesses. Throughout the month of March, fans who visit a woman-owned business can upload the receipt through Intentionalist for a chance to win a variety of prizes from their favorite sports teams. With a goal of catalyzing $20,000 in spending at small, local woman-owned businesses this month, Receipt & Receive aims to both introduce fans to new small businesses and encourage them to continuing visiting their old favorites. Those looking for suggestions can visit Intentionalist.com to search for qualifying businesses.

Ahead of kickoff, Saturday's Scarves Up moment is being led by Seattle Seahawks linebacker Jordyn Brooks.

As a reminder to fans, with updated health and safety guidelines for King County, vaccination verification for general fan entry is no longer required and the use of face masks - whether indoors or outdoors - is now optional. Vaccination verification and masking are still required, however, for fans utilizing on-field pitchside seats.
