
Sounders FC Faces Real Salt Lake in First Road Test of the 2022 MLS Regular Season

SEATTLE, WASH. - After suffering a 1-0 loss at the hands of Nashville SC to open its 2022 MLS season, Seattle Sounders FC (0-1-0, 0 points) hits the road to face Real Salt Lake (0-0-1, 1 point) in its first MLS away match of the year on Saturday, March 5 (3:00 p.m. PT / FOX 13+, Prime Video, iHeartMedia, El Rey 1360 AM).
In their most recent matchup, RSL eliminated Seattle in Round One of the 2021 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs last year via penalties after 120 minutes of scoreless action at Lumen Field. Real Salt Lake's playoff run in 2021 went all the way to the Western Conference Final. Seattle is currently 1-10-3 at Rio Tinto Stadium during the regular season and narrowly trails in the all-time regular season series with a 12-13-5 record.
Following Saturday's match, the Rave Green return to 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League action as they host Liga MX side Club León in the first leg of the Quarterfinals at Lumen Field on Tuesday, March 8 (7:00 p.m. PT / FS2, TUDN, iHeartMedia).
