Sounders FC Announces Full 2022 Preseason Schedule

SEATTLE, WASH. - Seattle Sounders FC today unveiled its full schedule for the 2022 preseason, with upcoming out-of-town training camps to be held in Tucson and Palm Springs. The club is set to play a select number of preseason matches ahead of its Concacaf Champions League home-and-away matchup with Honduran side F.C. Motagua in February. The 2022 MLS regular season begins on Sunday, February 27 with a home match vs. Nashville SC.
Brian Schmetzer's side travels to Tucson, Arizona this weekend for a 10-day camp at Kino Sports Complex from January 24 through February 1. As part of the Desert Showcase hosted by FC Tucson, Seattle faces rival Portland on Wednesday, January 26, as well as the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday, February 1 before departing home for Seattle.
Following a week of training in Seattle, the Rave Green then depart for Palm Springs, California for a weeklong camp from February 9-15. While in Southern California, Sounders FC is taking part in the Coachella Valley Invitational at The Empire Polo Club, facing host LA Galaxy on Thursday, February 10. Following camp in Palm Springs, the club then heads directly to Tegucigalpa, Honduras for the first leg of its Concacaf Champions League Round of 16 matchup with F.C. Motagua on Thursday, February 17. The second leg is taking place in Seattle on Thursday, February 24 before the MLS season opener against Nashville SC on Sunday, February 27.
