Sound Tigers Sign Jones

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that forward Connor Jones has agreed to terms on an American Hockey League contract.

Jones, 25, signed a Professional Tryout contract at the start of the season with the Sound Tigers. The Trail, B.C., native has played in 14 games and has two penalty minutes in 2015-16.

The 5-foot-9 Jones is in his second professional season after spending last year with the Oklahoma City Barons. In 60 career AHL games, Jones has recorded four goals and six assists for 10 points.

Prior to his professional career, Jones played at nearby Quinnipiac University for four seasons, serving as an alternate captain of the team from 2012-14. Jones' grandfather, Terry, played for the New Haven Blades of the Eastern Hockey League from 1967 to 1969.
