BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers have released the official schedule for the upcoming 2013-2014 AHL season.

The Sound Tigers will begin the campaign with five straight games at Webster Bank Arena, including the season opener on Saturday, Oct. 5, with games against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Norfolk, Manchester, Springfield, and Binghamton.

Albany will travel to Webster Bank Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 6 for "Cool Fun 101", the Sound Tigers' annual school-day game which emphasizes the importance of education and its relationship with the game of hockey. Both that game, and "Spring Fun 102" against Springfield on Tuesday, April 1, are scheduled for 11 a.m. starts.

December will be a busy month for the Sound Tigers, one in which they will play 14 games, including six at home. They will end the calendar year with a New Year's Eve game against Portland at Androscoggin Bank Colisee, former home of the Lewiston MAINEiacs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. On Feb. 22, the Sound Tigers will travel to Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia for a contest against Adirondack.

For the eighth straight season, the Sound Tigers will host games on the days after both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Both games, on Nov. 29 and Dec. 26, will be against Hartford at 7 p.m.

Following a three-games-in-three-days set in April, the Sound Tigers will close out the season on the road with games on April 18 and 19 against Adirondack and Hartford, respectively.

Of the Sound Tigers' 38 home games, 34 of them will be played on either Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon.
