
Wild Announce Inaugural Schedule

Des Moines, IA - The Iowa Wild, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, announced on Thursday the 2013-14 regular season schedule.
The 76-game regular season includes 38 home and 38 away games. Iowa will play its first game in team history with a 7:05 p.m. faceoff on Saturday, October 12th at Wells Fargo Arena against the Oklahoma City Barons. The AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers will round out Opening Weekend with a 4:05 p.m. faceoff on Sunday, October 13th.
Iowa will play the first road game in team history at Charlotte the following weekend on Saturday, October 19th at 6:00 p.m. CT. The Wild will face the Checkers twice at Time Warner Cable Arena before returning home on October 24th to begin its Midwest Division schedule with the Chicago Wolves. In all, Iowa will play 40 games (20 home / 20 away) against division rivals Chicago, Rockford, Milwaukee and Grand Rapids. Each team will visit Wells Fargo Arena five times and host the Wild five times throughout the season.
Grand Rapids, the defending Calder Cup Champions, will make the club's first visit to central Iowa on Sunday, October 27th at 5:05 p.m. Iowa will collide with the Milwaukee Admirals for the first time in AHL history on Sunday, November 3rd at 4:05 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena. The Rockford IceHogs will host the first meeting between the Wild and the Hogs at the BMO Harris Bank Arena on Friday, November 8th and Saturday, November 9th at 7:00 p.m.
Iowa will play a total of 24 games against the AHL's West Division starting with Oklahoma City on Opening Night. The Wild and Barons will play a pair of games in October and then meet again for the final two games of the regular season at Oklahoma City on April 18th and 19th. Iowa will see West Division opponents Texas and San Antonio six times (3 home/3 away). The Texas Stars visit Wells Fargo Arena on November 1st and November 2nd at 7:05 p.m. The San Antonio Rampage make its Wells Fargo Arena season debut on Friday, November 15 at 7:05 p.m. Iowa heads to the Lone Star State the first week of December to see the Stars (in Cedar Park, TX) and the Rampage. The Abbotsford Heat and the Iowa Wild will play for the first time on November 23rd and 24th in central Iowa. Abbotsford, Charlotte and OKlahoma City will play the Wild four times (2 home/2 away) this year.
The North Division will round out the list of regular season opponents for 2013-14. Iowa and Lake Erie will meet a total of four times (2 home/2 away). The Monsters will play a pair of games at Iowa on December 17th and December 18th. The Wild will visit Lake Erie for two games on February 21st and 22nd. Toronto, Hamilton, Utica and Rochester will see the Wild for a pair of games during the 2013-14 season, with each team hosting one game and visiting Iowa for another.
The team's longest home stand of the season is six games. Iowa will be at home for six straight games on three separate occasions, starting on November 13th through November 24th. The Wild also host six games from December 15th - December 29th, as well as from March 16th to March 26th. The longest road trip of the season of six games occurs twice; December 4th through December 12th and from February 28th to March 12th.
