Crunch Announce 2013-14 Regular Season Schedule

Syracuse, NY - The Crunch will open their 20th AHL campaign on Saturday, October 5 with a visit to East Division foe the Binghamton Senators. The following Saturday the Crunch will host I-90 rivals the Rochester Americans in their home opener on Saturday, October 12. The complete 76-game schedule is attached.

This marks the 10th time in the Crunch's 20-year history and eighth year in a row the club will start the season on the road (2001-01, 2003-04, 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13).

Syracuse will play 33 of its 38 home games on either a Friday (15) or Saturday (18). Additionally, the Crunch will play three home games on Sundays and two on Wednesdays.

March will be the busiest month of the season with 14 games including four road contests and 10 games at the War Memorial Arena. The team will play eight games in October, 12 in November, 11 in December, 12 in January, 10 in February and nine in April.

The Crunch will face 14 opponents during the 2013-14 season, with Binghamton and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton being their most frequent challengers (10 games each). The Crunch will play 36 of their 76 games against East Division opponents (Binghamton 10, Hershey 8, Norfolk 8, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 10). Syracuse has 16 contests against the Northeast Division (Adirondack 6, Albany 6, Bridgeport 2, Springfield 2) and 20 games against the Western Conference's North Division (Hamilton 4, Rochester 8, Toronto 2, Utica 4).

The 2013-14 Crunch schedule features three four-game homestands, one from January 11-24, another from March 8-15 and the last from April 4-12. The team's longest road trip spans five games (December 31- January 10).

The Crunch will play in NHL arenas twice this season, facing the Hamilton Bulldogs at the Bell Centre in Montreal on November 22 and hosting the Hershey Bears at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. on February 23.
