Monarchs Announce 2013-14 Schedule

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, will open the 2013-14 season with a four-game road trip before they return home for their Opening Weekend, presented by AutoFair, when they host the Providence Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19 at the Verizon Wireless Arena, the American Hockey League and Monarchs President Darren Abbott announced on Thursday. Individual tickets for the 2013-14 season will go on sale to the public on Tuesday, October 1 at 9:30 a.m. and can be purchased by logging onto www.manchestermonarchs.com, by visiting the Verizon Wireless Arena Box Office or through Ticketmaster.

The Monarchs will open their 13th AHL season with four road games starting with a game at 7:00 p.m. against the Springfield Falcons at the MassMutual Center on Saturday, October 5 followed by a 7:05 p.m. contest against the Bruins at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Friday, October 11, a face-off against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 7:00 p.m. at the Webster Bank Arena on Saturday, October 12 and a 7:00 p.m. match-up against the Hartford Wolf Pack on Friday, October 18 at the XL Center. The Monarchs home season will open with a 7:00 p.m. contest against the Bruins on Friday, October 19 followed by a face-off with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Sunday, October 20 at 3:00 p.m. The two games during Opening Weekend, presented by AutoFair, will be played at the Verizon Wireless Arena.

The Monarchs Care Foundation and Norris Cotton Cancer Center are once again teaming up to raise funds and awareness for men's health with the third annual Mullets In Movember game against the Norfolk Admirals on Saturday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. Manchester will hold their 13th annual New Year's Eve Celebration against the Bruins on Tuesday, December 31 at 7:00 p.m.

The start times for all Monarchs home games Monday through Saturday for the 2013-14 season will be 7:00 p.m. except on Wednesday, November 13 against Norfolk when the fourth annual Education Day game will begin at 10:00 a.m. The puck will drop at 3:00 p.m. for all home games on Sundays this season, as well as games against the St. John's IceCaps on Saturday, October 26, the Bruins on Saturday, March 8 and the Portland Pirates on Saturday, April 5.

The Monarchs 76-game schedule includes 38 games at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester. The Monarchs will meet 13 of their 14 Eastern Conference rivals during the 2013-14 season. Manchester will play 46 of the 76-game season against teams in the Atlantic Division, which includes the Worcester Sharks, Portland, Providence and St. John's. The Monarchs will play Portland, Providence and Worcester 12 times (six home and six road games) and St. John's 10 times (five home and five road games).

The Monarchs will play 20 games this season against teams in the Eastern Conference's Northeast Division including the Adirondack Phantoms, Albany Devils, Bridgeport, Hartford and Springfield. Manchester will play Adirondack and Albany twice (one home and one road game), Springfield four times (two home and two road games), and Bridgeport and Hartford six times (three home and three road games). The Monarchs will also play 10 games against the Eastern Conference's East Division including the Binghamton Senators, Hershey Bears, Norfolk and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The Monarchs will play Norfolk four times (two home and two road games), and Binghamton, Hershey and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton twice (one home and one road game).
