BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Jan. 12, 2011) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers will host their annual Pink Rink Night sponsored by Norwalk Hospital this Saturday against the Providence Bruins at 7:00 p.m.
For the first time in their history, the Sound Tigers will wear commemorative pink jerseys sponsored by Norwalk Hospital in support of breast cancer awareness and research. The Sound Tigers will hold an on-ice auction during the game where fans can bid on select jerseys off the players' backs, with the remaining jerseys being auctioned off on eBay. All of the commemorative pink jersey auction proceeds will go to the Smilow Family Breast Health Center at Norwalk Hospital.

"Our Pink Rink Night is very important to our organization and our community," said Sound Tigers President Howard Saffan. "We're honored to be partnered with such great organizations like Norwalk Hospital to benefit this important cause, and we urge all of our fans to show their support and wear their pink to Saturday night's game."
Any fans that wear pink to Saturday night's game will be invited onto the ice following the game to take part in an on-ice picture to commemorate the evening. In addition, the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center will be selling pink bracelets on the Webster Bank Arena concourse with all proceeds benefitting their breast care center.
The Greenwich Fire Department will also be on hand selling t-shirts to support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and the American Cancer Society will be distributing information and literature on cancer awareness.
Saturday's game is the first of two weekend home games for the Sound Tigers, who will also host the reigning Calder Cup Champion Binghamton Senators on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
