TIGERS VS. BRUINS

Tonight's game marks the seventh of 12 meetings between the Sound Tigers and P-Bruins this season, and the fourth of six matchups in Rhode Island. Bridgeport leads the series 5-1-0-0 and has won four straight meetings, including a 5-4 shootout victory in their last tilt on Feb. 11. Carter Verhaeghe (one goal, one assist), Kane Lafranchise (one goal, one assist) and Tanner Fritz (three assists) all recorded multiple points that evening.

VIEW FROM PROVIDENCE

Kevin Dean's club has won three of its last four games including a 3-2 victory over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins last Sunday. Jordan Szwarz recorded his team-leading 39th point with the game-winning goal in the final 4:04, while Danton Heinen added two points (one goal, one assist). Between the pipes, Zane McIntyre made 37 saves to improve to 13-0-1 this season. His only blemish came in Bridgeport on Feb. 11. Providence's leading goal-scorer, rookie Peter Cehlarik, continues to be on call-up with Boston. The P-Bruins conclude a five-game homestand tonight before traveling to Webster Bank Arena tomorrow.

TIGERS VS. BEARS

Sunday's game will mark the sixth of eight meetings between the Sound Tigers and Bears this season, and the third of four matchups at Webster Bank Arena. It's also the third consecutive Sunday afternoon meeting in Bridgeport. The Sound Tigers have won two straight matchups and lead the series 3-2-0-0, including a 5-1 victory at home last Sunday.

VIEW FROM HERSHEY

Troy Mann's squad has dropped three of its last four games and currently sits fifth in the treacherous Atlantic Division, six points behind Providence. All-Star forward Chris Bourque scored Hershey's only goal in last weekend's 5-1 loss to Bridgeport, and now leads the Bears with 45 points (15 goals, 30 assists) this season. He's also tied for sixth in the league's scoring race. In addition, teammates Travis Boyd (tied for 10th) and Paul Carey (tied for 13th) are also in the top 20 in league scoring. Hershey opens a three-game weekend series tonight in Hartford, then travels back home to host Toronto on Saturday before concluding the weekend in Bridgeport on Sunday afternoon.

BEST WEEKEND YET

First-year forward Josh Ho-Sang is coming off a career weekend in which he recorded eight points (three goals, five assists) in a trio of games. The former first-round pick is now on a three-game goal streak and tied for the team lead in assists (24). In addition, Ho-Sang became Bridgeport's active leading scorer when the Islanders recalled Bracken Kearns yesterday.

KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES

In addition to 17 points (five goals, 12 assists) in 47 games, third-year forward Connor Jones does all the little things that don't necessarily show up on the score sheet. On Wednesday, the 26-year-old was rewarded with a one-year, two-way (NHL/AHL) contract with the New York Islanders, his first NHL deal. He was immediately loaned to Bridgeport and remains with the Sound Tigers for now. Prior to turning pro, Jones spent four seasons at Quinnipiac University, where he played with his twin brother and current teammate, Kellen Jones.

HIGH "FIVE"

Bridgeport's offense has ignited over the last two weeks, scoring five goals in four of its last five games. In addition, the Sound Tigers have outscored opponents 23-13 over that span, including 13-5 last weekend alone. Bridgeport has recorded five or more goals (in a game) 14 times this season. The club's season-high was a six-goal effort on Dec. 14, an 8-6 loss to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

QUICK HITS

Carter Verhaeghe has scored in five straight games (six goals), the longest active streak in the AHL... Tanner Fritz has nine points (three goals, six assists) in his last six games and is on a five-game point streak at home... Jaroslav Halak is on a 12-game win streak overall, dating back to Jan. 20... Michael Dal Colle is on a career-best six-game point streak (two goals, six assists)...
