Bridgeport's seven-game win streak gets snapped on Friday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Feb ruary 24, 201 7 ) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers (33-17-1-1), proud AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, saw their seven-game win streak come to an end on Friday in a 2-1 loss to the Providence Bruins (31-14-5-4) at Dunkin' Donuts Center.

Andrew Rowe scored a power-play tally early in the second period, but the Sound Tigers couldn't solve goaltender Zane McIntyre (14-0-1) again, falling to 5-2-0-0 against the Bruins this season.

The loss also snapped Bridgeport's eight-game point streak on the road and Jaroslav Halak's (13-2-2) personal 12-game win streak. The Sound Tigers' netminder made 37 saves.

Sean Kuraly put Providence on top at 3:39 of the first period when he capitalized on a breakaway at even strength. From the Bruins' blue line, Tommy Cross sent a long stretch pass ahead for Kuraly, who found himself behind the Sound Tigers' defense. Kuraly skated straight to the net and beat Halak;
